Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Maxify ("we," "us," or "the app") handles information when you use the Maxify mobile application. Maxify is a self-improvement app that takes a photo of your face, generates aesthetic feedback scores, and builds a personalized routine. By using the app, you agree to the practices described here. Effective July 2, 2026.
Your face photo — how it is used
When you tap Scan, the app captures a photo using your device camera. That photo is sent to our third-party artificial-intelligence provider (Anthropic, which operates the Claude API) for the sole purpose of generating cosmetic feedback scores (such as skin, jawline, and hair ratings). We do not use your photo to identify you, we do not match it against any database, and we do not perform identity or surveillance facial recognition.
If you choose to generate your "potential" preview — an optional, separate feature — that same scan photo is additionally sent to a second third-party artificial-intelligence provider (OpenAI, which operates the image-generation API used to produce that preview) for the sole purpose of creating that enhanced image. This only happens when you explicitly request a potential-photo generation; it is never sent automatically.
We do not store your scan photos on a server of our own. To keep your latest results visible when you reopen the app, your most recent scan photo — and, if you generate one, its AI-enhanced "potential" version — are saved locally on your own device only. Your first-ever scan photo is also kept locally on your device to power the before-and-after progress comparison. These photos never leave your device except when transmitted to Anthropic for scoring or, if you request it, to OpenAI to generate your potential preview; the recent ones are replaced each time you take a new scan, and all of them are erased if you delete the app. Our AI providers may each process and temporarily retain a transmitted image on their own systems to deliver the result and to monitor for abuse, in accordance with their own policies; neither uses Maxify content to train its models.
Biometric information, retention, and your consent
To the extent your scan photo or any facial measurements derived from it are considered "biometric information," "biometric identifiers," or "biometric data" under any applicable law (such as the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, the Texas CUBI Act, or the Washington biometric privacy law), this section governs and you consent to the following.
Purpose: we collect the photo solely to generate cosmetic feedback scores and, if you request it, your optional AI-generated "potential" preview. We do NOT create, store, or use a faceprint, facial-geometry template, or any biometric identifier to recognize or identify you, and we do not use it for surveillance.
No sale: we do not sell, lease, trade, or otherwise profit from biometric information, and we do not disclose it except to the AI providers (Anthropic, and — only if you request a potential-photo generation — OpenAI) that perform the analysis or generation you request.
Retention and destruction schedule: on our own systems your scan photo is used only transiently to produce your scores — we do not retain your photo or any biometric information on our servers after the analysis is complete, and we do not maintain a database of biometric identifiers. A copy of your most recent scan photo (and its enhanced version, if generated) is kept locally on your own device, under your control, so your results stay visible; it is overwritten by your next scan and permanently erased when you delete the app.
Consent: by tapping "Scan" and submitting a photo, you voluntarily give your informed consent to the collection, transmission, and processing of that photo as described in this policy. If you are under 18, you confirm that your parent or legal guardian has consented on your behalf. If you do not consent, do not scan.
The scores and your photo are an estimate, not a fact
Scores are subjective, automated estimates intended for self-improvement and entertainment. They are not a medical, dermatological, psychological, or professional assessment, and they are not a judgment of your worth. See our Terms of Service for the full disclaimer.
Location — used only to confirm regional availability
Because of differences in regional law, face analysis is not available in every location. The first time you start a scan, with your permission we take a single, approximate location reading from your device and convert it to a state or region solely to determine whether the feature is available to you. We use this location reading only for that availability check. We do not save your coordinates, we do not track your movements, we do not build a location history, and we do not use your location for advertising or any other purpose. If you decline location access, face analysis stays disabled, but you can still use the rest of the app. You can change location permission at any time in your device settings.
Information stored on your device
Almost everything Maxify remembers is stored locally on your device, not on our servers. This includes your scores and scan history, your most recent scan photo and its AI-enhanced "potential" version, your streak and daily task progress, your generated program, your scan count and best score, your guide-reading progress, your app preferences, and — if you create an account — your account details. If you delete the app, this local data is removed with it.
Account information
You can use Maxify as a guest, sign in with Apple, or create an account with your name, email, and a password. If you create an account, those details are stored on your device to keep you signed in. If you choose "Sign in with Apple," Apple may provide us a name and an email (or a private relay email if you hide your address); we use it only to set up your account. We do not sell or rent your account information.
Purchases and subscriptions
Maxify offers an optional auto-renewing subscription. Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store — we never see or store your credit-card or payment details. We use RevenueCat, a subscription-management provider, to verify and manage your subscription status. RevenueCat receives a randomized app user identifier and purchase information from Apple so we can tell whether your subscription is active. Apple's and RevenueCat's handling of this data is governed by their own privacy policies.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, we schedule local reminders on your device to help you keep your daily streak. You can turn these off at any time in your device settings. Notification scheduling runs on your device; we do not maintain a server list of your reminders.
What we do NOT do
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not show third-party advertising. We do not embed third-party advertising trackers or analytics SDKs that profile you across other apps. We do not knowingly build a biometric identity profile of you.
Third-party services we rely on
• Anthropic (Claude API) — generates your facial feedback scores from the scan photo.
• Apple — App Store payments and "Sign in with Apple."
• RevenueCat — subscription status management.
• Expo / EAS — app delivery and over-the-air updates infrastructure.
Each of these providers processes data under its own privacy policy.
Age requirement
Maxify is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you are between 13 and 18, you may use Maxify only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it. Parents or guardians who believe their child has used the app may contact us at support@looksmaxify.me.
Your privacy rights
Because most of your data lives on your device, you can view and control it directly in the app, and you can erase all of it by deleting the app. Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising them. To make a request, email us at support@looksmaxify.me and we will respond as required by applicable law. We do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
Data retention
Local data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. This includes your most recent scan photo and its enhanced version, which stay on your device only, are overwritten by your next scan, and are erased when you delete the app. Scan photos are not retained on our own servers after analysis. Subscription records held by Apple and RevenueCat are retained under their respective policies.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your device and account credentials secure.
International users
If you use Maxify outside the United States, your information — including your scan photo during analysis — may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate, which may have different data-protection laws than your own.
Categories of information and how we use it (U.S. state privacy)
Categories we may collect: identifiers you provide (such as name and email, only if you create an account); the photo you submit for analysis and the cosmetic scores generated from it; subscription/purchase status; and app-usage and preference data stored on your device. We use this information only to provide the analysis and your program, keep you signed in, manage your subscription, and maintain, secure, and improve the app. We disclose information only to the service providers listed in this policy, solely to perform those functions. We do not "sell" or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Depending on your state (for example California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon, and others), you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and to limit certain processing; contact us to exercise them and we will not discriminate against you for doing so.
Legal bases for processing (EEA, UK, and Switzerland)
Where this applies to you: we process your photo and generate scores on the basis of your consent, which you may withdraw at any time by not scanning and by deleting the app; we process account and subscription data to perform our contract with you; and we process limited operational data based on our legitimate interest in running and securing the app. You have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict your data, to object to processing, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority.
Do Not Track and cross-app tracking
Maxify does not track you across other companies' apps or websites and does not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals, because it does not perform that kind of tracking. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-app trackers.
Third-party services and links
The app depends on third-party providers (identified above) and may reference third-party content. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, security, or availability of any third party. Your use of their services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of Maxify after a change means you accept the updated policy.
